1.Bagmati River

-Bagmati river is a river which flows through Kathmandu valley of Nepal and takes it path through madesh province and later mix in kamla river of Bihar state of India. It is originates from the Himalayas of Nepal. Bagmati river holds a important religious value of Nepalese. Bagmati river is considered holy by both hindu and Buddhist. Pashupatinath Temple which is one among char dham of Nepal is situated in the bank of Bagmati river in which the water of Bagmati river is considered very pure and only the water of Bagmati river aaryaghat water is allowed in the temple. People come all around the country to do the aantim sanskar in the bank of this river. It is believed that the aatma get mukti from the cycle of birth and death. There is a problem of pollution in the bagmati river, the unmanagement of waste and the discharge of sewage are the main reason. This river is also important for agricultural purposes.

2.Gandaki River

 – Gandaki river is one of the major rivers in Nepal and India. Its Higher portion is in Nepal. Gandaki river is also known as Kali Gandaki river, Narayani river and Gandak . It is the deepest river of Nepal. Gandaki river is a left-bank tributary of the ganga river. It holds a very important religious, agricultural and hydroelectricity significance. Valmiki ashram is located in the bank of Gandaki river. Valmiki is a sage who composed the epic ramayad. It is also the birthplace of lav and kush (the son of god shree ram and goddess sita). There are also many shiva and Durga temple near the Gandaki river. The triveni dham is also located in the bank of Narayani river. The river itself is considered very pure. In this river the saligrams are found which is the only river in the world in which saligrams are found. Saligrams are the stones which is considered to be the incarnation of lord Vishnu. The Gandaki river is considered as the incarnation of goddess tulasi (the incarnation of goddess Laxmi).

 3.Koshi River

– Koshi river is the biggest river of Nepal. The river Kosi is formed by the mixing of three rivers, named the Sun Kosi,  Arun Kosi, and Tamur Kosi,these all rivers have been originated from the Himalayas. It later mixes with ganga river in India. It is the biggest sand supplier of Nepal. In rainfall, due to high discharge of water in the river, there is the occurance of flood in the state of India. Koshi rivers hold great importance in the development of the nation as it helps in the agriculture sector and production of hydroelectricity sector.
